Antonello Joseph Sarte Perez (born February 17[1] 1993) is a Filipino actor. He is a member of ABS-CBN’s circle of homegrown talents collectively known as Star Magic. He was launched as a member of Star Magic Batch 13.

Biography
AJ Perez was born on Wednesday, February 17, 1993 to a Bicolana mother and Ilonggo father by the name of Antonello Joseph Sarte Perez. His parents are Ma. Victoria Sarte-Perez and Gerardo Perez. He has a younger brother named Gello Perez studying in the rival school of De La Salle University, the Ateneo de Manila University. He has his own accents such as the Ilonggo accent coming from his dad and the “Filipino Style” accent of Americans. He is an honor student in his school.

Early Years After Discovery

In 2006, Perez was first launched as one of the members of Star Magic Batch 13. In fact, he was already a Star Magic talent a year before he was launched but his studies have always been his top priority so his exposure includes only ASAP, Homeboy and appearing as a guest in some ABS-CBN shows[2].

Perez was spotted by a talent scout while strolling in a mall in Makati. Like other aspiring commercial models, he went through several VTRs before landing to his first commercial stint with Globe. From there, he was cast in the UFC commercial, popularizing the phrase “ye-bah!”. However, it was his Milo TV commercial[3] that showcased his basketball skills which eventually captured the attention of ABS-CBN bosses and paved his showbiz career. He attended self-enhancement workshops with Talent Center and was launched as a member of Star Magic Batch 13.
